Projects
Computer Graphics
- Developed new MaterialX Lama shader definitions (LamaIridescence and LamaGeneralizedSchlick) to enhance cross-company synergy with Pixar RenderMan Lama.
- Pioneered bidirectional MaterialX shader translation graphs between OpenPBR and Standard Surface to facilitate users to test out OpenPBR and support OpenPBR in applications using an earlier version of MaterialX.
UX Design and Frontend Web Development
- Designed and implemented new user interfaces for internal Lucasfilm websites, with a focus on accessibility.
Creative Embedded Systems
- Engineered interactive art pieces through the use of microprocessors, distributed sensor networks, IoT, and intermedia systems.
- Specifically, created a shadow box escape room, a touch-based and environment-sensitive lego city, an ambient-light and interactive fractal art piece, and a two-person, remote-controlled memory game.
Ambient Internet
- Designed and programmed sites which consider the interactive and performative potential of the web.
- Selected projects include "Sky Full of Wishes," which allows users to peruse submitted wishes and submit their own (powered with Google CMS). "Tool for One" is a mobile-only web application which allows my friend to ascertain her current location in relation to the many different places she calls home - it takes in the phone's gyroscope and location data to point her to whichever location she chooses.
Augmented Realities
- Explored the potential of augmented reality in the art world, examining how digital worlds can interact with and extend existing pieces.
Art
Animations and Illustrations
- Created multiple illustrations, paintings, and animations during my time at Yale
Graphic Design
- Designed and laid out over fifty layouts for the Yale Scientific Magazine during my tenure as Production Manager
